Philippine News Channel GMA News TV 11 has been announced through television advertisement that the Korean Drama Block “Heart of Asia” is now on the said channel starting July 11.
3 returning titles was originally aired on its sister channel GMA 7 will be airing again from Monday-Friday including Empress Ki, Pinocchio and The Producers.
Empress Ki一기황후 (Tuesday-Friday 8:30AM)
The series revolves around Gi Seungnyang, a Goryeo-born woman who ascends to power despite the restrictions of the era’s class system, and later marries Toghon Temür (Emperor Huizong of China) to become an empress of the Yuan dynasty, instead of her first love, Wang Yu. Though the plot was not specific in line with the historical facts, it managed to highlight the deep love the Emperor embedded in Lady Gi and how she secured a powerful figure despite being a woman from Goryeo which was then understated in the Yuan dynasty. Empress Ki is the 2013 South Korean pseudo-historical period drama series was aired on MBC from October 28, 2013 to April 29, 2014 and it was originally aired also on GMA7 from October 20, 2014 to April 14, 2015.
The said series was written by Jang Young Chul and Jung Kyung Soon and directed by Han Hee and Lee Sung Joon.
The casts are lead by Ha Ji Won as Ki Seung Nyan (later Empress Ki), Joo Jin Mo as Wang Yoo (King Chunhye of Goryeo), Ji Chang Wook as Togon Temur (Emperor Huizong), Jin Yi Han as Tal Tal (Toqto’a) and Baek Jin Hee as Tanashiri (Danashri).
PINOCCHIO一피노키오 (Monday-Friday 3:10PM)
As a child, Ha-Myeong grew up in a family with his firefighter father, mother and older brother. Ha-Myeong and his older brother both possess higher than normal intellect and are proud of their father. A fire at a waste facility though destroys his family. His mother dies a short time later and Ha-Myeong ends up being scooped out of the ocean by an unknown man.
The man that pulls Ha-Myeong out of the ocean is the grandfather of In-Ha. In-Ha’s grandfather believes Ha-Myeong is his eldest son Dal-Po, who died 30 years ago. Ha-Myeong is then adopted by In-Ha’s grandfather and his name is changed to Dal-Po. In-Ha and Dal-Po now live together as uncle and niece, although they are in the same age range. In-Ha has a Pinocchio Syndrome. Whenever she lies she gets the hiccups. In-Ha and Dal-Po get along well until Dal-Po learns that In-Ha’s mother is the reporter that covered the waste facility fire that destroyed his family. Dal-Po tries to distance himself from In-Ha, but he also develops feelings for her.
Years later, Dal-Po and In-Ha’s family are now living in Seoul. In-Ha attempts to become a reporter like her mother. In-Ha meets her mother for the first time in years at a job interview for MSC Broadcasting Station. Her mother is the person giving her the job interview. In-Ha though fails the job interview. Her mother rejects her because of her Pinocchio Syndrome.

Pinocchio is a 2014-2015 South Korean television series. It aired on SBS from November 12, 2014 to January 15, 2015. It has 20 episodes and it was originally aired on GMA7 from July 1 to August 27, 2015.
The said Korean Drama was written by Park Hye Ryun and directed by Jo Soo Won and Shin Seung Woo. The Cast are lead by Lee Jong Suk, Park Shin Hye, Kim Young Kwnag and Lee Yu Bi.
The Producers一프로듀사 (Monday-Friday 11:00PM)
Seung-Chan decided to work at the entertainment division of KBS television network because of his secret crush on a KBS employee. On his his first day on the job, Seung-Chan goes through training, but has a difficult time with PD Ye-Jin. Ye-Jin is the producer of music program “Music Bank.”
Seung-Chan is then devastated when he sees his secret crush and PD Joon-Mo being affectionate towards each other. Joon-Mo is the producer of variety show “2 Days & 1 Night” and he is a long time friend of PD Ye-Jin.
PD Ye-Jin has been feeling sick since the morning, because of an incident with an expensive parked car. She tries to contact the owner of the parked car, but fails. Ye-Jin then argues with popular singer Cindy over her stage outfit.
PD Joon-Mo is also going through a hard time. He hears rumors that his show is going to be cancelled because of low ratings. The Producers is a 2015 South Korean television series was aired on KBS2 from May 15, 2015 to June 20, 2015 and it was originally aired on GMA7 last December 21, 2015.
The said series was written by Park Ji Eun and Kim Ji Sun and directed by Seo Soo Min and Pyo Min Soo.
The casts are lead by Kim Soo Hyun as Baek Seung Chan, Cha Tae Hyun as Ra Joon Mo, Go Hyo Jin as Tak Ye Jin and IU as Cindy.
